All About Me: Marc Ellis serves as the Club Director of Indianapolis Pickleball Club North and Commissioner of Organized Play for all three Indianapolis Pickleball Club locations, where he oversees leagues, tournaments, ratings, and organized programming. While his passion lies in designing engaging competitive experiences for players of all skill levels, he is equally committed to developing new players through quality instruction. Marc has taught numerous Intro to Pickleball classes, led 3 & Me instructional sessions, and coached players from their first time on the court to competitive play.
Since 2023, Marc has served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Louisville—his alma mater, where he earned a Master’s degree in Sport Administration—co-teaching the nation’s first accredited pickleball-only course at a Power Five conference university. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Texas Southern University, where he competed in both basketball and football until injuries brought his collegiate athletic career to an early end.
Drawing on leadership experience in higher education, Corporate America, and the sports industry, Marc is passionate about using pickleball as a platform to connect people, foster meaningful relationships, and create opportunities in both business and life. Whether teaching a beginner’s first lesson or directing large-scale competitive programming, his mission remains the same: to grow the game, build community, and leave every player with a better experience than when they arrived.
